Born and raised in Guangdong, China, Shiyun Deng is an interdisciplinary artist and graphic designer. Their work deals with the momentarily existence of language in oral and mark-making mediums. They amplify the motive to communicate in actions of performing, drawing, voicing and filming.
Deng holds a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design at ArtEZ University of the Arts, and she is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Graphic Design at Yale University. Their work has been shown at Het Nieuwe Instituut, Motel Spatie, Affiche gallerij in the Netherlands, and featured in Metropolis M Magazine.
