Bix Archer is an artist from San Francisco, CA. She is interested in a subjective, embodied way of looking at the world, where the boundaries between reality, fantasy, and memory are blurred, and vision is shaped by relationships to others. By taking up subjects that cannot be looked at directly or in full—a landscape in the dead of night, the slow decay of a tomato vine, the experience of falling in love—she approaches painting as a process of rendering experience that exceeds vision.
